Rishi’s passion is people. Every day he works to get to know and help those capable of creating something transformational, whether it’s an addictive consumer product, a much needed service for the enterprise, or an untapped mobile experience.

Rishi joined Matrix Partners as a Senior Associate.

He came to Matrix from Scale Venture Partners where he served as an Associate. He brings with him extensive experience in consumer Internet and SaaS businesses, having worked closely with such companies as Beachmint, Vitrue and DocuSign.

Prior to Scale, Rishi was an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He advised companies in the payments technology, software, and enterprise networking sectors on a variety of leveraged buyouts, debt and equity offerings, and strategic M&A transactions. Rishi began his career with Apple’s Higher Education Marketing division, helping the company market to educational institutions throughout the Midwest. He graduated with honors from Northwestern University, double majoring in Economics and Communications.

As a Canadian citizen of Indian origin who grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, the “where are you from?” question is always the most difficult to answer. When not meeting and working with entrepreneurs, Rishi can be found on the basketball court, the golf course or exploring San Francisco in search of the perfect brunch (your suggestions are more than welcome!)
