Verivue announced today that Nissho Electronics and NTT SMARTCONNECT used its OneVantage Content Delivery Solution to deliver live streaming of the 93rd Japan National High School Baseball Championship that occurred in August 2011. Again this year, NTT SMARTCONNECT and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation have partnered to provide coverage of the championship tournament via Asahi Broadcasting Corporation’s website ( http://koshien.asahi.co.jp/ ). Implementation of the feature-rich OneVantage solution allowed NTT SMARTCONNECT to deploy massive live streaming capabilities.

NTT SMARTCONNECT utilized the OneVantage solution because of unmatched scale, flexibility, and ability to handle dramatic increases in traffic load. The Verivue solution features an open network virtualization platform, installed on commodity hardware, upon which CDN software modules can be deployed and managed easily. This flexible deployment model adapts quickly and effectively to meet changing bandwidth requirements. By leveraging cost-optimized COTS technology, CDN components are scaled independently for either storage or bandwidth capacity at any point within the network. Additionally, this COTS-based deployment model allows the caching infrastructure to scale linearly through the addition of nodes within a single cache instance.
