Music intelligence platform The Echo Nest has launched a Spotify playlist of the top 100 “discovery” songs.

By scouring the web to find out what people are listening to and talking about, the company determines a Discovery Score for every song in the universe.

The playlist will curate the result that identify up-and-coming new music from artists who are not yet established.

A blog posting from The Echo Nest read: “These songs come from all over the planet, and feature many different styles. They do not reflect any individual person’s taste, but in a sense, they represent the world’s collective curiosity.”

The list will be updated weekly and users can subscribe to the playlist within Spotify.
