Skyfire Mobile Browser 4.0 offers a new feature, which intelligently suggests related videos based on the content you are browsing – it’s an entirely new way to discover video and live video streams.
This new Pandora-like video recommendation engine allows users to explore related videos based on the content they are browsing. Relevant video is easily accessible and automatically generated in a list available from the Video button on the SkyBar toolbar. If a video is available from the webpage the user is browsing, that video shows first, and the recommendations are listed below. Suggestions are even available on pages with no video, from that website, or similar websites. Skyfire’s intelligent recommendations leverage the Skyfire community to identify the hottest trending videos of the day, by category. The experience of watching the best of web video on Apple iOS devices, including Flash content, is now easier than ever.
“Ten million downloads represents an exciting milestone for the Skyfire team, and we are extremely thankful to all those users who have supported our vision for bringing full access to all video on the Web. We believe in doing that in a mobile-optimized way that saves money for users on limited data plans, and is better for overloaded network operators as well,” said Skyfire CEO Jeffrey Glueck.
Since its iOS mobile browser first launched in 2010, Skyfire’s app has been a runaway success. Its browser for the iPad has remained the number one paid utility app for ten months and its iOS and Android apps remain among the most popular apps worldwide, garnering numerous awards and recognition.
