January 09, 2012
Inflection, an emerging leader in the family history and public documents industry, is excited to announce that Peter Merholz will join the team as Vice President of User Experience. Co-founder of Adaptive Path, a premier user experience consulting firm, Peter brings over 15 years of experience in web design and interactive media. He joins a number of outstanding recent additions to the Inflection leadership team.
As VP of User Experience, Peter will lead the User Experience team at Inflection. “While my primary responsibility is to lead a world-class user experience team,” Peter said, “I see my real job as encouraging a company-wide mindset around holistic customer experience, built on a foundation of deep empathy for our users. That empathy will guide us in the ongoing expansion of Inflection’s portfolio, ensuring the delivery of outstanding products and services that meet very real customer needs.”
In 2001, Peter conceived Adaptive Path, now one of the world’s leading firms dedicated to user experience strategy and design. He grew the company to serve a global client base that included key clients like Samsung, Twitter, Zappos, and The Harvard Business Review.
Peter is a thought leader in the web design industry. He has written for a variety of publications, including the Harvard Business Review Online and regularly presents at conferences all over the world. He co-authored Subject to Change: Creating Great Products and Services for an Uncertain World. In 1999, he coined the word “blog” on his website, peterme.com, when he jokingly shortened “weblog” into “we blog.”
Inflection is thrilled to welcome Peter. The team looks forward to growing through his design, strategy, and leadership. It is also pleased to have successfully on-boarded several other exceptional people to its leadership team in the past six months including Matthew Baird (CTO), Eduardo Pretell (VP Marketing), Tamir Pokorny (Director, Financial Planning & Analysis), John Harrington (Director, Product Management), and Anne Roach (Director, Content Development).
