Hyper9 Doubles Revenue in Q3; Adds ExecsOctober 20, 2010
Hyper9 Inc. has added two executives to its leadership team at the same time as posting its most successful quarter to-date, officials said.
The Austin-based virtualization management firm hired Bob Quillin as chief marketing officer and Greg Barone its vice president of worldwide sales.
Quillin, a 27-year industry veteran, worked previously in leadership for VMware. He worked in management for EMC and was vice president of marketing at nLayers, Packeteer and Network Physics. Barone joined the company last quarter, bringing18 years of experience in sales and sales management for technology companies. He worked previously as vice president of worldwide sales at Cognio, which was later acquired by Cisco Systems.
Hyper9 said its newest customers include The Broad Institute, Costco, Delta Dental, Tyco and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The privately-held company was founded in 2007 and is backed by Venrock, Matrix Partners, Silverton Partners and Maples Investments. Hyper9 said revenue increased 400 percent in the third quarter, but did not release dollar amounts.
