HubSpot on Tuesday announced that it has named John Kinzer, formerly chief financial officer of Cape Cod-based BackOffice Associates, as its new CFO.
The appointment comes as the Cambridge-based inbound marketing software firm continues to eye an initial public offering. HubSpot CTO and co-founder Dharmesh Shah said last week that "we could have gone this year, but we're dotting the i's and crossing the t's and seeing how the markets play out."
Kinzer has spent 23 years in management, accounting and finance in the tech industry, HubSpot said.
Prior to BackOffice — a privately held firm with more than $100 million in annual revenue — Kinzer was CFO of Washington, D.C.-based Blackboard.
"To build a once in a generation company, we needed a CFO with the experience to build a finance team that will scale with our business and delight our customers and investors alike," HubSpot COO JD Sherman said in a statement.
HubSpot is expecting about $75 million to $80 million in revenue this year, up from $52.5 million last year, Shah said last week. HubSpot has 650 employees; about 120 of those were hired in the third quarter of this year, Shah said.
