HubSpot, Eliassen, Acquia Make Inc.'s Fastest-Hiring ListDecember 13, 2012

Inc. has released its inaugural list of "Hire Power" honorees — companies which added jobs at a brisk pace from 2008 to 2011 — and the top 10 on the Massachusetts list are largely tech or tech-related firms.
Coming in at No. 1 in Massachusetts was Cambridge marketing software firm HubSpot, which created 262 jobs during those years, and ranked at No. 87 for the U.S. as a whole on the Inc. list.
Not included on the list are some employers in Massachusetts that have been doing even more hiring than the numbers put up by the likes of HubSpot, according to Boston Business Journal research. Those include hospitals, universities and other technology companies (such as EMC Corp., which previously reported to us that it added 1,300 jobs in Massachusetts in 2010 alone).
Nonetheless, the list does give a sense of the hiring taking place at a number of growing Massachusetts high-tech companies.
Also making the Inc. list are Wakefield-based IT recruiting firm Eliassen Group; Burlington-based Drupal web publishing services firm Acquia; Lawrence solar power inverter maker Solectria Renewables; Harwich data management software firm BackOffice Associates; Waltham "innovation software" maker Affinnova; and Lowell-based payments processing software firm Litle & Co. (which was acquired in October by Vantiv for $361 million).
