Gilt City Acquires Luxury Dining Booking Engine DinePrivate.comFounder and Restaurateur Joe Bastianich to join Gilt City as Private Dining & Restaurant Expert
October 03, 2011
Gilt City, the leading online site for luxury services and experiences, has acquired fine-dining booking engine DinePrivate.com. Co-founded by acclaimed restaurateur Joe Bastianich and Jeff Zalaznick, DinePrivate.com enables consumers to research and book private dining rooms throughout New York City. Joe Bastianich will join Gilt City as a Private Dining & Restaurant Advisor to curate the most memorable dining experiences for Gilt City members.
Gilt City’s acquisition of DinePrivate.com will allow members access to over 90 of New York’s top private dining accommodations in restaurants such as Del Posto, Bluefin, Megu, Marc Forgione and Da Silvano. With its rotating slate of luxury flash sales, evergreen offers available through The INdex, and space for restaurants to promote special menus and services via DinePrivate, Gilt City has established itself as a continual brand-marketing partner to the restaurant industry.
As Gilt City’s Private Dining & Restaurant Advisor, Bastianich will extend his culinary eye and curate private-dining events at DinePrivate’s featured restaurants in New York, with additional cities to come in 2012. In this role he will work one on one with Gilt City’s private-dining team to create unique epicurean experiences, host special events and write a monthly dining column for Gilt City’s online magazine, CityUnlisted.com.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe Bastianich and DinePrivate.com to the Gilt City team to grow our presence and partnerships among the most desired restaurants in New York City,” said Nathan Richardson, President, Gilt City. “This luxury-dining booking engine furthers Gilt City’s commitment to being a year-round brand marketing partner to the restaurant industry, offering a one-stop solution for planning holiday parties or any special occasion with friends, family or colleagues.”
To celebrate the expansion, Gilt City is hosting a series of events and private dinners including a Beer dinner at Eataly’s Birreria, curated by Joe Bastianich, and a cocktail reception at Sorella, all available exclusively to Gilt City members at www.giltcity.com beginning the week of October 3rd.
“Pairing Gilt City’s unique approach to the dining world with DinePrivate’s reach and resources for searching and booking the best private rooms at New York’s top restaurants makes us the go-to resource for any New Yorker who loves to throw private events,” said Joe Bastianich, Co-Founder, DinePrivate.com and Gilt City Private Dining & Restaurant Advisor. “We are hoping to revolutionize the way people dine out in the great cities of the world.”
The Private Dining booking engine will have a separate tab off the Gilt City homepage and is entirely customizable by user preference. Members can personalize their event by choosing the menu, beverages, AV, flowers, and more.
