Affirmed Networks, the leader in the virtualization of mobile networks, announced that Fogg Mobile has selected the company’s network virtualization solution, called the Affirmed Mobile Content Cloud™.
Fogg is a Stockholm, Sweden based start-up, founded in 2010. The Fogg team created the Fogg SIM card, which enables borderless connectivity for mobile devices to allow instant, hassle-free 3G/4G internet access in Sweden, Denmark, UK, and Ireland, with a wider rollout to follow.
“Fogg offers a unique solution that we think will satisfy many users’ growing demand for ubiquitous mobile data access on tablets and other data devices,” stated Carl-Magnus Stenberg, CEO and Founder of Fogg Mobile. “Affirmed Networks and HP presented us with a compelling virtualization solution that will allow us to realize a faster return on our investment, while also allowing us to quickly evolve our service offering to meet our subscribers’ needs.”
Affirmed Networks’ unique NFV technology – which includes the Affirmed Mobile Content Cloud, the AN3000®, and the Acuitas Service Management System™ – significantly transforms and advances the state of mobile data networks and enables value-added services, high performance, excellent scalability, high resiliency and content-delivery capabilities that far surpass incumbent vendor solutions.
“Innovative service providers like Fogg need flexible and affordable ways to deliver compelling services to their subscribers,” said Hassan Ahmed, Chairman and CEO of Affirmed Networks. “By virtualizing their network infrastructure with our software and HP’s BladeSystem, Fogg’s cost per byte drops to a fraction of that of a more traditional network architecture. Additionally advanced service orchestration enables Fogg to drive innovative new services to their customers”
Affirmed Networks was awarded the 2013 Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award, recently garnered notable recognition in CIO magazine, and was selected as a finalist in the Best New Product (Mobile) category of Light Reading’s 2013 Leading Lights awards.
