Esselunga Consolidates Data with Netezza to Better Understand Customers

Marlborough, MA — June 22, 2009 — Netezza Corporation (NYSE: NZ), the global leader in data warehouse and analytic appliances, today announced that Italian superstore chain Esselunga S.p.A. has moved it enterprise data warehouse (EDW) platform to Netezza, consolidating its data and enhancing consistency when compiling statutory reports. Driven by a desire to improve the performance and control the costs associated with its analytics, Esselunga is using the Netezza data warehouse appliance for geo marketing, customer scoring according to frequency and spend, as well as interactive reporting.
