BOXBOROUGH, Mass. – April 22, 2009 – Crossbeam Systems, Inc., the leading provider of next-generation security platforms for high-performance networks, today announced that it has received two awards from the Massachusetts Network Communications Council (MassNetComms) 2009 annual awards program. Crossbeam was named “Company of the Year” in the Broadband Infrastructure and Security category and its CEO Pete Fiore was named “CEO of the Year” in the Private Company category.
“Crossbeam grew its market share substantially in 2008,” said Mark Horan, executive director of MassNetComms. “The company’s strong performance, particularly in today’s economy, is a testament to the strength of its security platform and management team under the leadership of Pete Fiore. Crossbeam is among the best network communications companies in the region and well deserving of this year’s awards.”
The awards were announced at the MassNetComms Annual Awards Ceremony, held at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge on Tuesday, April 14, and was attended by more than 400 industry leaders.
“This is great honor for Crossbeam and reflects the teamwork and dedication of our talented employees across the globe,” said Fiore. “Through their efforts, Crossbeam had a milestone year in 2008, where we delivered industry-leading new products, achieved record sales and profitability, and expanded our global presence. With our recently announced blades and upgraded operating system for our X-Series offering, Crossbeam is well positioned to take advantage of the growing market for network security products and services—helping customers reap the enormous cost savings, reduced power consumption, and simplified management benefits of a consolidated and virtualized security architecture.”
Crossbeam’s X-Series security platform virtualizes the delivery of best-of-breed security applications in large enterprise and carrier environments. It is the highest-performing security platform, tested to “real world” rates of 40 Gbps with ultra-low latency, providing unprecedented scalability and flexibility to meet the needs of customers.
