Acacia Communications, the leader in delivering intelligent subsystems for ultra-high speed fiber optic transmission, today announced that 1,000 units of its commercial AC100 coherent OIF-compliant modules are in use globally, doubling the deployment in less than five months.
Addressing rapidly increasing market demand for multi-source agreement (MSA) modules, Acacia Communications' solutions are deployed by data center operators, carriers, cable operators and service providers to meet ever-expanding requirements for capacity.
Concurrently, Acacia additionally announced that the company has significantly expanded its worldwide headquarters in Maynard, MA, tripling its lab facilities along with more office space to accommodate robust growth in customers and employees.

Co-founder Christian Rasmussen will be presenting his paper on "Real-time DSP for 100+Gbps Systems" on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Ballroom A at 8:00 a.m.;
CTO and Co-Founder Benny Mikkelsen, will be giving a short course on "100 Gb/s and Beyond Transmission Systems, Design and Design Trade-offs" on Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m.
Director of Photonic Integration Chris Doerr, who also heads the OFC Optical Devices for Switching, Filtering and Interconnects Subcommittee, will be holding a Short Course on March 17 at 9 a.m. entitled "Highly Integrated Monolithic Photonic Integrated Circuits."
According to analyst firm Dell'Oro Group, the Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM) marketplace is expected to reach $13 billion in 2017, fueled by 100G shipments -- growing at 75 percent CAGR over the next 5 years. Additionally, Infonetics Research's recent survey of global network operators highlighted that 100G will take over most core networks by 2015.
