Acacia Communications, a network technology company, has expanded and signed a 28,500-square-foot lease at Clock Tower Place in Maynard, Mass.
The renewal and expansion of Acacia grows the company from 18,000 square feet of space at the sprawling complex. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A fourth quarter report from Cassidy Turley FHO said office rents in Maynard average $15.77 per square foot.
Clock Tower Place, a 1.1 million square foot suburban office park, has nearly 200,000 square feet of available space, according to LoopNet (Nasdaq: LOOP), a commercial listing company.
Acacia, founded in 2009, supplies equipment makers. To accommodate its growth, the company is expanding into new space consisting of offices, research and development labs, and test and assembly facilities.
Clock Tower Place, once the home of Digital Equipment Corp., includes 18 buildings built in the late 1800’s. Today, tenants include Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW), Epsilon Associates, and ExPonent (Nasdaq: EXPO).
The landlord, Wellesley Rosewood Maynard Mill LLC, was represented by AJax Partners. The tenant was represented by Avison Young.
