It's How to Be a Rock Star At Work week on Glamour.com! We've got insider intel from Bergdorf's Social Media Manager and The Outnet's Managing Director, advice from our own editors on how to land a fashion job, fall outfit ideas for the office, and now, a peek inside Gilt Groupe's HQ and some proper outfit ogling, courtesy of three stylish GG staffers. Come see!
Angela Boccarossa, Associate Women's Ready-to-Wear Buyer at Gilt Groupe
Her go-to office outfit: "Dresses are always a simple solution to the daily challenge of what to wear. On a “I have 30 minutes to get it together” kind of morning having a tried-and-true dress that I can easily accessorize or layer ensures a polished look - and that I still have time to grab coffee before my first meeting!"
The fashion item she can't live without: "Heels - sky high heels! I’ve never met a pair of heels that didn’t have the power to instantly add that extra bit of confidence and je ne sais quoi to any outfit."
Melissa Liebling-Goldberg, Women's Editorial Director at Gilt Groupe
Her style M.O.: "A really brilliant stylist once described my style as downtown preppy, and I think that captures a lot of how I dress. I credit my husband, who's an architect, for making me think more about the lines of my clothes and trying edgier cuts and styles than I might have before."
Her typical day: "Every morning starts with a big iced coffee, summer or winter (yes, I'm that person drinking ice coffee in the snow!), and a check-in with my amazing editor to make sure all the sales are on track for the day. Then I'll probably head into meetings with the marketing team or buyers - right now, we're working on fall and holiday simultaneously, so it requires a lot of strategic planning. After that, I might meet with our creative director and head stylist to plan shoots, and then it's back to the computer for some Gilt Insider blogging. And I'm always online at noon to pin the day's best on Pinterest and put up photos on our Instagram account (@GiltGroupe)."
Yvonne Yip, Director of Women’s Accessories at Gilt Groupe
The style vibe at Gilt Groupe: "My team is all about the accessories! Heels and statement necklaces are musts, but we tend to gravitate more towards simple, well-cut pieces in solid colors. We mix it up from sheaths to skinny jeans and boyfriend blazers, depending on what we need to do that day and who we’re meeting with."
Where she shops: "I do the majority of my shopping on Gilt, I think I get a package at least once a week! Outside of Gilt I’m not loyal to one store. I tend to go to stores with a specific item in mind so, depending on what it is, I’ll I shop anywhere from Zara to Barneys."
